Riesling Spätlese

Background and Profile

VINUM GERMANIA Riesling Spätlese v2010 is a juicy and fruity wine with a complex character and an excitingly intense bouquet of ripe fruit.

Spätlese grapes have to be left on the vine well until late autumn to ripen to the point of producing, rich, full-bodied wines. In 2010 cool summer temperatures and dry fall conditions allowed for a late harvest at the end of October beginning of November. All grapes for VINUM GERMANIA Riesling Spätlese were hand-picked when they reached their optimum maturity level.

All vineyards for producing VINUM GERMANIA Riesling Spätlese face towards the south ensuring the highest sunlight irradiation as well as the reflected sunlight from the Mosel River to ensure the highest, irradiation to be transmitted to the ripening grapes in late fall.
